Financial innovation and technological evolution are shaping economic and social changes, which has brought significant impact, challenges, and reflections on legal norms and regulatory policies, and also drew urgent needs for interdisciplinary dialogue and cooperation between law and other fields such as finance, economy, science, technology, and society. In response to this trend, the Center aims to bring together academic and research experts, government officials, and industry professionals in related fields to conduct systematic and continuous research on these issues and to put forward policy, legal and regulatory recommendations to enhance social welfare.

Initiated by six faculty members of the College of Law NCCU, the Center will successively invite more faculty members, experts, and scholars from outside to join. The members are Associate Professor Chin-Wen Wu, Distinguished Professor of Law Richard Li-dar Wang, Associate Professor Ping-Kuei Chen, Professor Cheng-Fong Chou, Associate Professor Ting-Chi Liu, Assistant Professor Po Liang Chen, Assistant Professor Ting-Hsien Cheng of NCU and Associate Professor Cheng-Yun Tsang of Manash University Melbourne.

The Center is committed to researching legal and regulatory topics associated with financial innovation and technological evolution. The topics include financial regulation, international financial governance, Fintech, and the law, privacy protection, data governance, cyber security, supervision technology(SupTech), digital transformation of regulatory authorities, open banking policy, digital assets, Anti-money laundering, and Countering the Financing of Terrorism, green and sustainable finance, and technology, finance, and social research.

The Center will regularly organize speeches, conferences, seminars, research salons, and other scholarly activities. We are more than happy to undertake the sponsors of staff training, cooperation programs, and research projects for governmental agencies, non-profit organizations, and private enterprises. The Center will also publish its original research, such as journal articles and monographs.
